Aswan, February 6, 2017.
Egypt’s President Abdel-Fattah Al-Sisi announced during the second Monthly Youth Conference in Aswan, the launching of a national project to create several industrial zones for micro and small industries, as well as the establishment of 200 small factories in all Upper Egyptian governorates over the next six months.
President said that the government aims to make Aswan “the capital of the African economy and culture”. President Al Sisi emphasized that Egypt is on the right track and will continue to work towards economic, political, and social development. He also stressed that Egypt is fighting a battle against terrorism and corruption, and an even greater battle for reform and development. The decision to hold regular youth conferences was made at the first annual National Youth Conference in October 2016, when over 3,000 young people from a number of the country’s universities and political parties participated actively in the event which was held in Sharm El-Sheikh and the first monthly follow-up conference was held in last December.
